The organization originally initiated conversations with Creative Visions to help design a logo on a pro-bono basis for a local event to support the culture of a non-profit.

Research & Discovery:

Creative Visions began a thorough investigation into the floral industry and the buying habits of the public.

The Big Idea:

"Free Rose" campaign – a joint promotion with a major rose distributor – in whic h the public was offered a free rose just for visiting one of the stores. The promotion directed the customer to their locations, allowed them to experience the kindness of the Veldkamp's staff and to see and feel the quality of the flowers, while receiving a free gift. Creative Visions negotiated with the supplier to provide roses at no cost to the retailer, which significantly increased the value of the promotion and the ROI.

The team launched an arsenal of radio, television and outdoor ads that would drive foot traffic to the stores.

Results:

Traffic and internet sales started to climb as the promotion kicked-off. In just 18 months, Veldkamp's sluggish sales had turned around. With a solid delivery model, strong image and increased market share, Veldkamp's had regained it's dominance in the Denver area.

Creative Visions engaged in a Local Motivational Research (LMR™) campaign to get a snapshot of the public's current perception. The LMR delivered a greater understanding of the practice and its strong points in order to develop the brand image -- "Friendly Staff", "Affordable", "Kid Friendly", "Simple" and "Culture". These emotional buttons ultimately became the messaging for the campaign.

The Big Idea:

A low-cost print and identity campaign utilizing the emotional buttons captured from the LMR.

Pieces included a logo re-design, reflecting "Friendly" and "Simple" and a local advertising splash hitting on the cues of "Affordable", "Good" and "Culture".

They uncovered that there was no centralized system, small runs were cost prohibitive to execute with local printers and it was often difficult to manage the various elements of the campaigns.

A simple, affordable and reliable ordering process for franchisees -- offering consistency in branding and printing, alignment with national TV and radio ads and insurance that all franchisees were in compliance with corporate guidelines.
